Variety Characteristics
- Sunrose Oil Sunflower is a 100% locally bred variety.
- It has medium height and a strong root system, providing high drought tolerance.
- Compared to the most sold oil sunflower varieties, it has equal or higher oil content and grain yield.
- The most suitable planting pattern is 70 cm between rows and 19–23 cm between plants.
- Sunrose is a medium-early variety with high tolerance to broomrape (Orobanche spp.) and downy mildew.
- It has high self-pollination ability and does not shed seeds from the head.
- The fully inclined head provides protection against sunburn and bird damage.
- It is compatible with Granstar technology and tolerant to this herbicide, without slowing down growth after application.
