Fodder pea (Pisum sativum var.arvense L.) is an annual, delicious fodder plant used in animal nutrition. It is consumed as green grass, dried grass or silage; its seeds are used in the production of fabricated feeds by adding to the feed rations of cattle and poultry, or they can be crushed and given to animals.
Fodder peas are mixed into the soil during the most abundant green evening and used for the reclamation of unproductive fields or as green manure.
The biggest advantage of ÖZKAYNAK fodder pea variety is that it can be sown for winter wherever winter barley is not damaged by cold.
Grass and seed yields are generally superior to vetch and Hungarian vetch; this superiority increases as conditions such as drought etc. worsen.
Fodder peas are grown pure or in mixtures as a main crop, intermediate crop or second crop.
When it is desired to be grown as a second crop for grass production or green fertilizer in irrigated conditions, it is sufficient to sow directly on the stubble immediately after the main crop.
